Courier Support
Bespoke Packing and Crating
We facilitate courier-accompanied shipments and provide the
necessary training for those travelling with works via road or air.
Where we have air-side access, our airport representatives
supervise all shipments in our care.
Courier requirements, including accommodation, travel, and
meals, are organised by our team, and we provide a complete
overview. Personal travel insurance is available on request.
Our skilled craftsmen allow us to cater to a wide range of objects,
ensuring their safety and security during transport and storage. All
crating is constructed according to ISPM-15 regulations.
We follow packing best practices as required by leading arts
institutions such as the National Museums Scotland, National
Galleries Scotland, and the V&A.
For more sustainable options we offer Turtle Crates and a hire
crate range. Turtle provides the most sustainable climate crates on
the market with a lifespan of at least 20 years. Our hire crates are
from the Island Laminate range and provide picture, slotted and
object variations. They’re constructed to a high standard and have
been used by leading UK institutions.

Our expert fine art handlers and technicians are fully trained in the
professional packing, handling and installation of a wide range of
objects at a variety of locations, including museums and galleries,
as well as many of Scotland’s stately homes. We have specific
expertise in the safe handling and installation of large paintings,
antiques, large sculptures, and delicate and fragile objects.
We tailor our plans to the unique needs of each object in our care,
recognising that different types of artwork have different handling
needs.
Understanding the materials and techniques used in creating an
artwork allows us to make informed choices about the tools and
equipment we use when handling and installing. Ensuring the right
approach when handling artwork significantly reduces the risks of
damage occurring.
Our technical team are equipped with a range of packaging
materials. This includes acid-free tissue paper and bubble wrap
and, can supply custom-made crates.
