Systana Gravure fabricates custom signs,
decals, and accessories with lettering,
numbering, graphics, and other markings
lasered into them.
The engravings are done
using either a fibre laser or
a CO2 laser, both of which
produce permanent results.
Systana Gravure uses two
lasering techniques - laser
marking and laser etching.
With laser marking, a thin
layer of the surface material
is removed leaving behind
shallow marks.
Conversely, with laser
etching, the laser fuses
one material (usually
ceramic powder) to the
surface of another
material, creating
raised marks.
As far as what
materials the engraving
can be done on,
Systana Gravure
recommends either
aluminum or stainless
steel.
Aluminum is better if you're
looking for a lighter, softer, less
expensive option, but stainless
steel is more durable and
resistant to scratches, scuffs,
rust, and oxidation.
If requested, they can
also mark other metals,
as well as wood,
plastic, and glass.
