John Natsoulas Gallery Hosts
Annual Art of Painting Conference
on October 12
The 15th Annual Art of Painting in the 21st Century will
feature a lecture by leading abstract artist Ian Harvey,
who teaches at CSU Sacramento.
Feminist and immigrant artist,
Danielle Muzina, will also present
a lecture about her figurative
paintings. As a painter and
educator she emphasizes
empowerment and strength.
Maija Peeples-Bright will be featured as one of the panelists. Moderated by fellow painter,
Bill Maul, the panel will give her and her fellow speakers a chance to share their art.
Patrick Siler, the second panelist, has had an
incredibly long career. His involvement with the
Funk and Bad Painting Movements in the 1970s were
iconic, and he continues to paint.
Both Laurelin Gilmore and Nimah Gobir will be on the
panel and they will provide a look into the
contemporary painting world in Northern California.
Jerald Silva, a watercolorist with an entirely unique trompe l'oeil technique, will present the final lecture.
He will share details about his long career and distinctive style.
