NAU College Athletes Make A Difference
in Arizona Through Contributions To New
Fund
Athletes have long been seen as role models, and they
are prized in advertising. Business has leveraged
student-athlete influence for years. Why can't
nonprofits do it, too?
The Timber Jacks are making it
possible for Flagstaff
organizations. The group raises
money to support Northern

participation in community
Last year, NAU's athletics department made a portal connecting athletes and businesses
for Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) transactions. But nonprofits weren't included.
Contributions to the Timber Jacks will provide
nonprofits with similar NIL opportunities, allowing
civic-minded groups to harness the influence of
college athletes.
