UK Brain Cancer Care: NHS Limits Push
Glioblastoma Patients To Private Fundraising
When a loved one receives a glioblastoma diagnosis,
decisions can be overwhelming. Some, like Raimondas
& Asta, opt for private care.
Glioblastoma is one of the most
aggressive brain cancers, with
very limited treatment options.
Standard therapies often can’t
keep up with how fast it
progresses.
The NHS provides essential care, but advanced, experimental treatments, like targeted
immunotherapies, aren’t widely available or funded yet.
Private clinics offer access to cutting-edge
therapies, personalised plans, and newer drugs.
But they come at a high cost and aren’t
guaranteed to work.
For many, private clinics offer hope when standard
care has reached its limits. That's why Asta launched a
GoFundMe campaign to give her partner a fighting
chance.
She acknowledges the difficulty of asking strangers for help but says their situation leaves her no
choice. All donations are protected & will go toward Raimondas' treatment.
