New and Improved edocr Viewer, take 5+? Sept 2022 - Actually we are not sure what version viewer this is for edocr. As we were founded in 2007, then purchased by Accusoft in 2015, we really just know this is our fourth iteration since the acquisition, so technically this is at least number 5! Our previous version set of viewers were released in August 2020 & April 2019, and they really were mostly feature additions built onto the initial viewers released in 2015 after the Accusoft acquisition, all built around the PrizmDoc Cloud Services HTML5 client. We think you will like our complete rewrite now built on react.js! We are still using PrizmDoc Services for all of our document conversion. Here is a quick side by side comparison of the new and old (right side) viewers: The first thing you will notice is our new borderless style, offering more viewer with a lot less frame, and a whole lot more viewer 'wow factor'. Plus, in order to maintain as low a profile as possible, all the viewer and account controls are presented in drop down menus or hideable toolbars. The control of documents and your edocr account is handled by the hamburger menu (or 3 pancake stripes navigation bar) on the top left of the viewer. The click of the hamburger icon brings up the following menu: Then, on the top right of the viewer is our advanced viewer controls (3 vertical dots) menu, as well as the 'Show Fullscreen' icon. This menu is where you control the current document you are viewing, including Print & Download if the owner has allowed (hidden if disabled) plus... (a zoom in of top left corner is below) ...a toolbar for viewing thumbnails of all pages, copy text (if allowed by the publisher), zoom, rotate, fit to width, fit to height, show document text & annotate. Plus, if the document was uploaded as Powerpoint, Word or other non-PDF, we allow 'save as' PDF. (More annotation features will be added here soon) Although the website makeover is still some months out, we did modify and streamline the document upload process to coincide with the release of our new viewer. Current edocr users will find the process so much easier and more intuitive. Also, included with this release is a new Premium view mode option for all of our viewers allowing full window viewer launch with the details sidebar collapsed by default, but still accessible by hitting the “arrow” button, plus a checkbox option that has the toolbar shown by default when the viewer launches. See new checkboxes below: While we have added additional features for our Premium Users, we have also impacted the experience of our free users. While unlimited document sharing will always remain free of charge, the new viewer will include more advertising placement, including in the embedded and mobile viewers. We are also continuing the policy begun in 2019 of not allowing search bots to index content uploaded by free accounts, making edocr a perfect sharing platform for defined groups, but users looking for SEO & linkbacks need to hop on to one of our inexpensive Premium Plans. The edocr viewer is powered by Accusoft's PrizmDoc Cloud and may be directly embedded via iFrame on a website, or called via API directly from the PrizmDoc Cloud service. We want feedback. Please help us improve edocr by getting your suggestions into our planning via the edocr help desk or by email. Thank you for your use and support of edocr.
