Röbller Vineyard in New Haven, Missouri was recognized in the newest release of
Karen MacNeil’s book, The Wine Bible 3rd Edition (Workman Publishing 2022.)
Karen and her books are trusted resources and top references for sommeliers.

TWB reached Jerry through email when considering the
winery for the latest edition. Intrigued by his many
positive reviews, staff members found his website to
communicate a degree of professionalism not found in
the region. At first, he could not quite believe it, but is
humbled by the honor.
Having wines included in TWB is serious recognition
especially in a region that is known more for its historic
contribution to the US wine industry. Jerry has raised the
stakes for fine winemaking in Missouri, and his work
challenges an industry convinced that producing fine
wines isn’t possible.
To the TWB staff, Röbller Vineyard wines are European in style, different and
compelling. They insisted that Röbller wines should be recognized and promoted
because they are “doing things we just don’t see.”
Jerry takes a dynamic approach to the
science of producing wine. His German
heritage and engineer father contributed
to a mind steeped in process and design
engineering.
Any problem can be solved by
figuring out the how and why.
His anything is possible perspective allows him to work differently. Though he continues to
explore every avenue to create compelling outcomes, Jerry doesn’t plan on changing his
approach. Being featured in TWB reinforces that he’s on the right track.
One satisfied customer wrote in her Google
review that she wanted to return bottles
they bought from other wineries in the area
after they tried his. “The wines at Röbller
are Napa quality.”
Reviews like this raise expectations, but
those expectations get tempered by the
low reputation of the industry. In Missouri
today with its focus on tourism, wine is a
backdrop.
