How long it will take you to qualify depends on the time you can commit to your training and whether you are
working during your training.
Who should I train with?
Carefully research your options looking at local and national driving schools, but don’t assume that biggest is
best. Talk to other driving instructors and find out who they trained with and what their experiences were.
Who to train with will play a very important part in your new career and you should take time to ensure you
pick the right option for your circumstances and goals.
Most driving schools and trainers will give you the opportunity to meet them and discuss your plans and the
training they offer to see if you are a good fit for each other.
Look at the costs, the support and long term options. You should also check if you will be tied into long
contracts after you have qualified, if you are tied in, be careful as they may not guarantee you a number of
pupils!
You decision may also be influenced by whether you wish to work for a driving school or start your own
business.
